Wll even if its not sticking, its a good idea to change it.

I'll likely change the coolant with fresh when I change the thermostat and radiator cap. I'm wondering if I might have a sticking thermostat. The weep is so slow that the coolant evaporates with the heat of the engine and never drops on the floor. I noticed the overflow level went up about 1" but no higher. Fan cycled off and stayed off for next 5 minutes and I opened the throttle again until the fan turned on again. Canadian Tire has all the auto parts you need, from brake pads to car batteries, to battery chargers and wiper blades. Upper hose very hot radiator and lower hose hot but not as hot as the upper. I opened the throttle by hand to about 2000 rpm and after about 3 minutes of that the fan came on. Another 10 minutes of idling, upper hose getting hot radiator and lower hose still relatively cool. Drove for about 5 miles and the temperature gauge started rising. Refilled lost coolant and burped the system. It was full when we bought the car July of 2019. I let it idle for about 5 minutes, no bubbling out of the radiator. Ok, so I did a VF43 swap yesterday, and everything went relatively smoothly. I noticed two days ago after about 90 minutes of sitting post highway driving the coolant reservoir was bone dry. Oddly, it only took coolant until I got to the full mark on the reservoir. There is a hard waterline coming up the front of the engine, It ends about midway on the drivers side head. I have never once had an issue when it comes to overheating after delete the reservoir. If there is debris that settles to the bottom of the reservoir tank, the hose is low enough to also suck debris back into radiator. That is literally one the first things I do on any Subaru Remove the coolant reservoir.
